Gigi Kohl is a Junior Musical Theatre Major at Texas State University in San Marcos Texas! She enjoys songwriting, reading, and swimming in the San Marcos River! She is originally from Illinois, where she previously competed in the Miss America Opportunity. She was honored to be Miss Capital City’s Outstanding teen in 2022 and received 2nd Runner Up in Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen that year.

 

Gigi is so grateful for the opportunity to share her story through her Community Service Initiative, “Healing Beyond Loss”. She dedicates all of her work to her grandfather, Mike Kohl Sr, who she lost to suicide on August 23th, 2022. With the platform that the title of Miss San Marcos provides, she plans to bring awareness to those who are left behind after losing a loved one as well as bringing them the knowledge that there are resources to help them them to help them through their grief.
